Dr. Applegate is a member of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) and also the Main Commission of the International Commission for Radialogical Protection (ICRP) as chair of Committee 3, focusing on radiation protection in medicine. She joined, from its start, the Steering Committee for the Image Gently Campaign to improve safe and effective imaging care of children worldwide.
